Needle in a Haystack?

A challenging forecast today, but we’ve come upon a solution. Matt and I both believe there is a window of opportunity today from 4:30 or 5pm through no later than 9. The key will be getting a lone storm to fire. Parameters come together right about 7pm, shortly after the dryline starts retreating westward through the US 281 corridor. We’re going to watch that closely, as it comes under a number of other features for a short time. I think if we can get a lone storm to go, it will be productive for a couple of hours. The key is getting it to go in the first place. It may take an outflow boundary from earlier storms to give it just that extra little punch.

Preliminary target: Hutchinson by 4pm, then re-evaluate data to decide where. My best instinct at this point says somewhere in the Lyons to Pratt corridor.
